What to Expect in Nature Camp

Nature camp is a unique place to play and explore. We provide time where children are free to explore their own interests, ideas, curiosities and questions. Educators also have a theme for each week that involves learning a hard skill - and allowing children different opportunities to use that learned skill. (for example: knife safety & and use, knot tying, shelter making, flint & steel, fire safety & fire building, trail making, tracking, compass use, water filters & purification, setting up camp, river rescue & fording, fishing, cooking and nature crafting).  We also provide many team games and challenges, first aid, hikes and more.

Nature Camp counsellors are facilitators who get dirty as they explore, create, build, learn and move from active sparking of children’s interests into quiet observation and planning while modeling enthusiasm as they assess risk management in collaboration with children.

Our ratios are 1:12 or 1:8 with the littlest members (mixed group is 1:12)

PRIDDIS HALL: July 8 - 12 and July 22-26. August 19 - 23

$275.00 per week. Ages 5 - 13 After Care Available for Additional Fee.

BRAGG CREEK PROVINCIAL PARK: July 8 - 12 and July 29 - Aug 2, Aug 12 - 16

What will be be doing?! learning how to set up camp, pit toilets, fire building, flint & steel use, cooking over fire, knife & hatchet use, tarps & knots, shelter building, water purification, safe river crossing and river rescue drills and what to do if lost in the woods. Be prepared for some hiking and bonus points for those who make and sleep in their shelter and so much more!
