Rediscover Play and Heartsong: A Partnership Providing a Unique Learning Environment.

What are our programs all about? Well, we are a Nature & Equine Facilitated Learning School that will provide your children with an amazing learning experience. The morning session will include the equine learning time, followed by lunch, free exploration and focused bushcraft/nature learning.

Equine Facilitated Learning incorporates the partnering of children and horses to develop personal wellness skills and emotional awareness and resilience, all while having fun in the outdoors!  It can be so helpful to guide children and teach them about what it means to be present in the moment, develop focus, mindfulness, connection, and can create a huge sense of accomplishment and self confidence.

Working alongside horses encourages critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as empathy and emotional congruence.

Heartsong Equine has several child friendly miniature horses that we partner with to help teach children in our programs all about the amazing life skills that they will need on their journey towards growing into all they are meant to be.  Children can expect to be responsible for morning feedings, care and grooming of our miniature horses and some exercising and connection time with the horses and the other animals on the farm.

Rediscover Play Nature Programs provides the bushcraft and nature learning piece: Nature Schools provide space and time for emergent curriculum and child inquiry to lead educators. We teach many hard skills as we follow each child’s interests and scaffold them to deepen their learning. Nature School benefits include increases in child perseverance, resilience, self-esteem, and mental well-being - it is a holistic approach that meets many needs and learning styles.

Your child will participate in wilderness/bushcraft skills: shelters, fire building, flint & steel, knots & tarps, compass use, knife & real tool use, hikes, plant identification, habitat understanding, seasonal learning, storytelling, nature crafting, gratitude circles, and loose parts play.
