OUTDOOR THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT SESSIONS
Doing Therapy Differently: delivering 1:1 therapy whilst whittling around the fire in our outdoor spaces, leading outdoor communication groups for children with complex needs in the woods, providing outdoor therapy for children and youth with Social Emotional Mental Health Needs.
Melissa will be the main practitioner and has completed an accredited specialized training program with a clinical psychologist & specialist speech and language therapist. She holds post secondary in child and youth care(BCYC), Early Learning and Child Development (Level 3), Brain Story Certification, Mental Health First Aid and of course certified Forest & Nature School Practitioner and Mental Health Practitioner.
The certification as an Outdoor Mental Health Practitioner is with The Therapy Adventure team in the UK and includes having access to clinical support and supervision by a multidisciplinary therapy team. The course was created and delivered by Award winning specialists from the fields of Speech and Language Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy and Music Therapy - designed to support the development of self esteem, independence, coping skills and social skills.
2 - 3 hour small group sessions. $150 - $225 per session ($1800 - $2700 for a 12 week session). One to One $200 - $300 per session ($2400 - $3600 for a 12 week session).
Our 6 month program is tailored for extra time to learn and use the coping skills for more intensive therapy and support. 2 hour sessions once a week $3120 or equal monthly payments. 3 hour sessions $4680 or equal monthly payments.
Our 12 month program consists of 6 months of one on one or small group therapy sessions, then in month 7 and 8 we substitute one session of therapy for a half day of regular nature school, months 9 & 10 we substitute two days of therapy for 2 half days of nature school, and months 11 & 12 we substitute two therapy sessions for 2 full days of nature school. The intent is that by end of year the child/youth will be using strategies & coping skills to integrate fully into nature school and other programs successfully. 2 hour sessions $6240.00. 3 hour sessions $9360.00.
